i have a landyachtz chief complete that i'm looking to sell, i want to pick up a Loaded Fish instead.
The chief is in great condition, i can send pics if you email me. I'm in San Diego. specs: chief 44" deck, randal II 180's, 70 mm wheels (from landyachtz website, view pics those are the ones i have), and nice bearings (forget the make). i rode it for about a year and a half, but now i've moved to an area where i really need something more street oriented so I want the kicktail and smaller size of the Loaded fish. I payed around 180 US for the complete, willing to let the whole thing go for around 90 bucks.
it's a beautiful looking board, quite flexy, carves and turns like crazy for its size.

Yeah, loaded boards rock. They have so much flex pumping's a breeze. If your looking for a great carver, slider, and flat ground board with great pumping, hands down, the loaded vangaurd (or loaded pintail)is the best.

i was down at purple skunk (purpleskunk.com) and they had this set up, a lot of fun to ride, long speed sidewalk surfing, felt better than the carver truck (the old version) i tried a long time ago.

I don't think it's an issue of false advertising. Not every company has the resources to be making web changes as often as needed in some cases. i ordered a board from Flowlab and it came with different graphics than on their site at the time. I felt like you did about the false advertising but after thinking about it - IT'S NO BIG DEAL.

Orions and Trackers are made by the same company anyways climaxmfg
This doesn't mean its ok for them to falsely advertise their products but I really don't think its a big deal, the trucks are still comin from the same factory and probably use the same geometry

Gravity / truck issue

A few weeks ago I wrote some posts regarding a complete that I bought from Gravity. It was a Gravity Team Rider. It was listed on the website as coming with Tracker Trucks. However, it came with Orion trucks. I did e-mail the sales manager at Gravity and he said that he would exchange the Orions for Trackers if I wanted. He did tell me that he and many other folks on the Gravity team rode Orions and they are the trucks that are coming with the Gravity completes now.
That's fine. I decided to keep the Orions on his recommendation and I have no complaint with them. However, I still notice that on the Gravity website the boards are still listed as coming with Trackers. This kind of worries me. I want all companies (especially skateboard companies) to be accurate in the listing of a product. I was thinking of E-mailing him again to inquire why they have not updated the website to better reflect what really comes with a complete.
Am I just being a baby about this OR should I go ahead and let them know how I feel?
Truth in advertising.........you know what I mean?

This is a sweet deck. I set it up with tracker darts, Retro Bertz and Powell Medium (need to swap for soft) bushings. It's got a mellow concave and is very responsive. I have done some mellow downhill carving and you can do some tight turns on this board. Great soulcarver.

I got a Insect Sidewinder a few weeks ago and it took a little bit of tweaking, but now it does everything I want it to - I can pump it forever, carve down mellow inclines, or run it through cones in a tight slalom. I have it setup with 81a Grippins, 139mm RTS/RTX trucks set at the narrowest wheelbase (19.5", although it also can do 20", 20.5", 21"). My tweaking involved first adding a full 1/2" of riser to the board to compensate for the low profile of the Tracker trucks (otherwise I get wheelbite). Then I added 7* (1/8-5/8") wedges to both trucks (forward/forward for slalom, forward/backward for pumping) to adjust the turning. Finally I replaced the stock bushings with and sanded Radikal bushings (75/75 front, 85/80 back) which really improve the stability and rebound of the trucks.
After all that I tried it out this weekend, I did some mellow TS course runs (6'6" cones and then some offsets) setup by Rick Sayers in Golden Gate Park - my first run I found it a little getting used to (first time ever running cones) but after about an hour I was able to run the first two sections cleaning at a slow pace... I wasn't able to do the 6'3" "stingers" he set up at the end of the course... but no one else (aside from Rick) seemed to be able to do them either so I guess they kind of difficult to do (especially for your first day doing slalom). I had a blast - even when I was bulldozing cones and freaking out the tourists walking by!
After that, I flip the back wedge to turn it into a pumping deck - I now can easily indefinitely pump the board around in my parking lot... which was *exactly* what I was looking for! (I can sort of pumping my 38" Loaded Vanguard, but not quite as well yet). I am very pleased with the board! Some thoughts...
Wheelbite:
One thing I noted was there there is a several potential for wheelbite with the
Trackers... Eli at PurpleSkunk ended up giving be 1/2" of risers PLUS the 1/8"
to 5/8" wedge which according to my calculations is about 3/4" of a riser. This
is irrespective of the stock Tracker bushings, or the Radikal bushings.
Bushings:
I would love to try Yellow Stim bushings... but they are an endangered species
it appears... so the Radikal bushings seem to work really well for me. They are
definitely more lively than the stock randals AND the blue Khiros with built-in
washer, better feel than the stock Tracker hourglasses (which are a little
mushy).
Trucks:
I went to PurpleSkunk at SF tried the 105, 140 Seismics and the 106 and 139
Trackers (I might have the sizes offset by a few millimeters, but it was
basically small and medium width trucks). I wasn't too key on the super narrow
trucks even though they give you quicker turning. I think that the that the
Trackers are a better truck for slalom (at least for starting out) - I like
their versatility (slalom, pumping, downhill), ease of use (changing bushings
vs springs) and economy (prce of trucks and springs). That's not to say that
Seimics weren't fun - I really like them as well and they are on my short list
of things to buy in the future - but they turn and respond a little...
differently and it would take some getting used to in slalom (Ricker Sayers had
Bahne Backhill with a 106 Seismics and grey springs on the front and a RTX 105
with stock bushings in the back that I tried out).

That totally makes sense now. In fact that clears up alot of what I did not really know about wheel hardness. Last night after everyone was out of the building I rode around the hallways where I have an office. The floor is super smooth and slick. I was just riding straight but the wheels seemed to ride just fine on that surface, not too slow at all really. I loosend the trucks a bit and it all came together.
I think that I will try you wheel recommendation (85a powell bowl bombers). That sounds like it would make the board a little more familliar to me in terms of the ride but allow me to work on the whole sliding thing.
I will try a park one day too. I just gotta find someone to show me the ropes.

those will feel terrible on all except the concrete of a skatepark.
I mainly ride parks and I have some of those wheels and they are good there.
a little tall for me, I like 58-60mm
97a wheels are for smoooooooth concrete; made for skate surfaces.
On a steep smooth hill they might come alive a little, but you probably
want some 85a-ish wheels like powell bowl bombers for asphalt. those will
slide too. too big and you will get wheelbite. careful of that.
Also, I read your other comment about the trucks being hard to turn, you
might want to replace the bushings with some bones hardcore or khiro or
something softer. the stock bushings are usually not so great, but tight
trucks are better for advanced sliding. for guys like you and me, a little
turning is a nice thing to have. I ride trackers with powell hardcore medium
bushings or a medium on the bottom and a soft on the top.
many wheels will work. here's one suggestion:

But I think you got yourself a good park and sliding setup. keep the wheels
for parks or trade them on buy-sell trade for some <65mm 84-90a center-set

*I was not sure where to post this as it might deal with "wheels" or "trucks" or "decks". So here it goes...
I just got a new complete in the mail. It's something very different from the 2 boards I already have (46 inch loangboard with Randal 180 trucks and Flashback 78a wheels and a Comet Gary Cross Slalom dech with with Abec11 Stinger 82a wheels.
The NEW board is a Gravity Team Rider...
Trucks: Tracker B2 149mm
Bearings: Gravity ABEC5 Risers: Gravity 3/8" Lightweight Wheels: Gravity 62mm Wood: 7 Ply Hardrock Maple
SPECS L:36.50" W:9.10" N:7.10" T:7.50" WB:17.50"
So far I've just ridden it around the parking lot at work which does have a bit of slope to it. The first thing I notices is that it's quite a bit "slower" than my other boards.
I kind of wonder why that is.
-Is it the "smaller" wheels?
-Is it the "harder" wheels?
-The stiff deck/ (my other boards have flex)
-Is it the trucks? (different than Randals)
-Is it the bearings? (new, not broken in)
OR Is a board like this "supposed" to be slower for more Park/Bowl riding? One day I would like to learn about that as a matter of fact. So far I just cruse around and I'm learning slalom. I bought the Gravity board to learn sliding on.
Any thoughts?

Wow. Couldn't help but pop over from my forum and look at this thing. This little conveyance is just a Darwin Award waiting to happen. I can't decide whether the eBay listing is a) a joke b) a homebrew idea by someone with a deficient frontal lobe or c) a conscious and malevolent attempt to thin the herd of the Young and the Stupid.
